Well, after an eventful trip positioning the boat we're off! The boat is in uncharted waters (well for us anyway) and we have found a familiar watering hole. The selection of ales in the New Inn at Long Buckby is both broad and beautiful. The crew have enjoyed some fab food and drink. Tomorrow is looking to be an adventure in itself. We don't know where we'll get to or where we'll get back to! In the mean time here's Matt being cool!
Had a quick check over Anitu this afternoon with The Admiral, checking out the new sleeping quarters and making sure all is tip top with the equipment. Also managed to find the Captains Log! (It was floating around in the canal! 😆)
I have had some great feedback today from various people who were commenting on my earlier blog regarding GPS tracking and data on the canal network. A few of you have said there should be no tracking as I should use to the time on the canal to have a digital detox and remove myself from the rush of the normal days... However, the thing is, I don't want to have a digital detox... I love the fact that my friends can engage with me 24 hours a day and I can do the same today...t
So today will consist of getting some of the tracking software ready to be deployed on the vessel for when we set sail, this means you will be able follow our progress online at boysinaboat.com Some people say that having all this technology on the historical canal network is moving away from its traditions but personally I feel that it allows interested people to interact with us so we are able to inform, entertain and engage, that can't be a bad thing...can it?
